Sections
Volunteering, Skill and Physical Recreation sections are to be completed in your own time for at least one hour per week for the number of months specified for your Award Level.  Remember - you don't need to do all the sections at the same time and you can build in breaks for study, exams, holidays, etc - if you want to do it, be flexible and make time!  Always check your choice of activity is listed at http://www.dofe.org/en/content/cms/Doing_your_DofE/. Check with your supervisor who will offer help and advice with arrangements ensuring you are on the right track for the award.  Use the activity planning sheets on the Forms page for guidance.  In your Record Book, which you should bring to each meeting, notice that a knowledgeable and experienced Assessor is required for each section who will provide an initial briefing, monitor your progress and, as part of a final review, write a brief report and sign your Record Book.

The Expedition section is a bit different - we cover everything you need to know at the meetings and you get out there and practise, under supervision, to gain experience before your practice expedition (early Summer) and qualifying expedition (late August).  You will need suitable footwear and clothing but we have some rucksacks, tents, stoves and compasses available.
